- Be confident. Having got to know you online, he wouldn’t have agreed
to meet you if he wasn’t interested.
- When you are dating in the UK smile and make eye contact as much
as possible without looking silly. Americans do it without hesitating...we
Brits are more reserved...imagine you are an American cheerleeder!
- Make sure your first date is somewhere that you feel comfortable.
Think about places you have been to before where you could happily sit
by yourself if necessary.
- Flirt! The occasional naughty joke will work a treat – even if it
is a cliché!
- Dress wise and be yourself. Don’t wear a vampy outfit if you feel
uncomfortable walking in stilettos. Sexy can be anything from a nice
smile to a flash of stocking!
- Show that you care about yourself. Clean nails, clean teeth, a decent
haircut and clean shoes all matter. Even if your style is ultra casual
– make the effort and he will appreciate it.
- Find shared interests – and then listen! Let him tell you about his
views on things – we don’t believe there is a fixed ratio of talk to
listen…but try to get a balanced conversation!
- Flatter him. Men are suckers for being made to feel good about themselves…tell
